Darlene is an instructional specialist with the Academic Foundation Initiatives at IPSI. She provides technical assistance and professional development for teachers and instructional leaders across the state as well as helping with outreach efforts.
Darlene received her master’s degree in educational administration from Texas A&M University in Kingsville. Darlene also worked for The University of Texas system as a reading technical assistance specialist during the Reading First initiatives and served in the role of teacher, district- and campus-level instructional coach, vice principal, and principal. Darlene has over 30 years of experience in the educational field and brings knowledge and expertise in areas such as instructional rigor, response to intervention, bilingual education, and teacher and principal standards.
